Outlearning
During my time in the Big Picture program, I have been privileged to engage with industry-leading experts from the government, tertiary, and not-for-profit sectors. My diverse experiences outside the classroom have significantly broadened my skill set, perspective, and professional connections.
Paul Ramsay Foundation
I spent 10 weeks assisting various teams at Paul Ramsay Foundation's head office under the mentorship of Penny Vella, a manager in the delivery impact team. I aided the grant approval process of the 'family stability package', assisting with policy research and familiarising the with the domestic violence sector and its current gaps.

Coogee Electorate Office
I spent 10 weeks in Dr Majorie O'Neill's office, assisting with constituent correspondence, policy research, community engagement, and administrative tasks in a busy electorate office. Furthermore I supported local initiatives and gained firsthand experience in state-level parliamentary processes and public service. I’m excited to continue supporting the team as a casual relief Electoral Officer after I graduate.
UNICEF Australia Head office
I had the privilege of completing a week-long placement supporting youth engagement strategy. Conducted research for a media campaign on former UNICEF Young Ambassadors and created a teen friendly summary of the Australian Children’s Wellbeing Index: Paper 2 – Empowering Young Minds for publication. Attended team meetings on COP29, internal training, and presented work to staff across multiple sessions.

United Nations Youth State Conference
I had the incredible opportunity to attend the UN Youth NSW State Conference as a delegate for Nicaragua. This was my first time participating in Model UN, and it was an eye-opening experience that challenged me to think critically about global issues, engage in diplomatic debate, and connect with like-minded young people from across NSW and the ACT.
